Even When I Shut the Door is a sight-conditioned light-based work. Using motion graphics animations, digital video projection and projection-mapping, the piece is completely specific to and dependent upon the physical characteristics of the space in which it was made. The animation is composed with concern toward one feature, in particular: a poured concrete baseboard running half the length of the wall. Even when I Shut the Door uses strategies from Tree Fort, 2019, and is a precursor for one of the animations in I Wish You Wouldn’t Linger, 2019.
