SONAR SESSIONS

Sonar is a technology that uses emitted or reflected sound waves traveling through deep water to reveal the shape of  things  unseen. Sonar helps us map hidden realms and navigate safely. Please join artist Pamela Hadley and Carnation Contemporary for three  evening  sessions of perceiving, grounding, voicing, and listening; of co-regulation and care.
Description:

Sonar Sessions will be small group events held at Carnation Contemporary and guided by the artist. Each Sonar Session will begin with a period of self-directed viewing of Hadley’s show, The Color of Where We Are Not, followed by time for open group sharing. Not to be confused with group discussion, Sonar Sessions are a place for people to give voice, if they are so moved, to anything that might be on their minds or hearts. For some, this exhibition may surface feelings such as grief, relief, clarity, surrender, etc. Instead of leaving the show to process this individually, Sonar Sessions offer the opportunity to sit together, listen, and hold space for one another. Chairs will be offered but co-participants are welcome to move around the gallery as they wish. The gallery will be dark, except for the light from the show’s projections. It will be a calm, quiet, and safe space.

Each session will be 90 minutes in length and include up to 8 co-participants. To keep things safe and intimate, attendance without an RSVP is not permitted. Thank you for understanding. Masks are strongly encouraged and will be provided. More detailed information will be emailed out to participants closer to the event.

Accessibility: Carnation Contemporary is ADA accessible when accessed through Oregon Contemporary. Please reach out if this is something we can coordinate for you: pamela@pamelahadley.com
